Headcount Buddy is an agent that helps amateur sports groups coordinate RSVPs and headcount for practices, matches, games, and scrimmages. We’re initially available through SMS (WhatsApp, iMessage, and email planned for later).
If you’re seeing this page, your group’s organizer (a team captain, coach, or whoever runs your pickup game) likely shared our number with you. We never message you proactively until you opt in — see “How players join” below for the exact opt-in step.
Your team’s organizer (captain, coach, or group leader) will share the Headcount Buddy number with you and ask you to text in. To join:
Text START to +1 (425) 552-8339 to get Headcount Buddy text messages about your team’s practices, matches, scrimmages, RSVPs, and schedule changes.
Each player opts in themselves, from their own phone — your organizer cannot opt you in for you. You’ll get a confirmation text once you’ve joined.

You can also text us anytime — to ask about your team’s upcoming events, update your availability, raise your hand for an open spot, or just give feedback. We treat your group’s messages like a conversation, not a form.
Message frequency varies by your group’s activity — typically a handful of messages per week.
Reply HELP for help at any time. You can also reply INFO — both bring you back to this page.
Once you’re opted in, you can just text us your feedback — a bug, something confusing, an idea, or a “this is great” — in plain words. Headcount Buddy passes it straight to the team that builds the service. You don’t need a special keyword; tell it like you’d tell a person (“the reminders come too late to be useful”). It’s the same number you use for everything else.
Reply STOP at any time. We’ll stop texting you, and your organizer can see you’ve opted out.
You can also reply STOPALL, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, OPTOUT, or REVOKE — any of these work the same way.
Note: your mobile carrier may also enforce its own block on top of ours once you opt out, and may keep blocking messages until you reply START. Carrier behavior varies, so the exact confirmation message you see when you opt out or opt back in may come from your carrier rather than from us.
